Privacy policy
Last updated: October 11, 2026
Birthday Grove helps you remember birthdays in Nepali and Gregorian calendars. This policy explains how the service handles information when you visit, save birthdays, or connect Google Calendar. For privacy questions and data deletion requests, contact policy@aashishtiwari.com.np.
Guest use
You can use Birthday Grove without an account. Guest birthdays are stored in your browser tab’s session storage, rather than saved to your account database. They can survive a refresh but may disappear when you close the tab. Downloaded calendar files are saved to your device; you control where you import or share them.
Information saved with an account
If you sign in with Google, we receive your Google account identifier, name, and email address to identify your account and let you access your saved list. We save the friend details you enter: given, middle and family names; birthday calendar, month and day; optional birth year; and whether to include each birthday in calendar events. Guest entries are merged into your saved list when you sign in.
Please enter other people’s details only when you have permission or another appropriate basis to do so. Birth years are optional.
Optional Google Calendar connection
Google Calendar access requires your separate approval. Birthday Grove requests permission to create secondary Google calendars and view, create, update, or delete events on those calendars. The app manages an app-created Birthday Grove calendar; it does not request access to your primary calendar or all existing calendars.
When you preview or confirm a sync, the service accesses events in the connected app-created calendar and sends selected names, birthday dates, and reminder settings to Google to create or update events. We store the connected calendar identifier, managed event identifiers and versions, sync settings, and temporary previews so we can update entries and protect manual edits.
Google access tokens are used on the server. A refresh token is stored encrypted to allow future syncs after you grant offline access. Google access and refresh tokens are not delivered in frontend API responses. Login tokens are not retained for account sign-in.
How information is used and shared
We use this information to provide account persistence, birthday calculations, imports, calendar downloads, and the Google Calendar operations you request. We do not sell Google user data or use it for advertising, profiling, or training general-purpose AI models.
Data is processed by the hosting and database services used to run Birthday Grove. Google processes account sign-in and calendar information when you use those features. The app also loads fonts from Google Fonts; your browser makes requests to Google for those fonts. We may disclose information when required by applicable law.
Our use of Google API data follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. Google data is used only to provide the user-facing features described here.
Cookies and service records
Account sessions use an essential session cookie. The service retains session records to keep you signed in, and uses temporary request counters to limit abuse. Operational systems may process connection metadata and security logs to deliver and protect the service. The application’s error logs exclude OAuth tokens, cookies, authorization headers, request bodies and query strings.
Retention, controls and deletion
Saved account information is retained while you use the service, until you delete records or request account deletion. Signing out does not delete your saved birthdays. You can edit or remove individual friends in the app. Previously synced upcoming events are removed on a subsequent confirmed sync; past events remain unless you remove them using the calendar controls.
You can disconnect Google Calendar to delete the stored refresh token and stop syncing. Disconnecting leaves existing calendar events and mapping records in place. You can also revoke access through your Google account connections; revocation does not itself delete saved birthdays or existing events.
To request deletion of your account and associated stored data, email policy@aashishtiwari.com.np from your account’s email address. We may verify your identity before carrying out the request. Copies you downloaded, events held in Google Calendar, and any data you shared must be removed separately. Any retained backups may hold older copies until their retention period ends; legal obligations may require limited retention.
Security and policy changes
Birthday Grove restricts saved records to their account owner, encrypts stored Calendar refresh tokens, and uses HTTPS in its production configuration. No service can guarantee absolute security. This policy will be updated when the service’s data practices change, with the revised date shown above.
